A shameless lunchtime spot of fun

Here's what the Daily Telegraph insists is a Chinese State TV video of various people in the Middle Kingdom filming UFOs, along with their pictures of the same. I used to love Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World--though I thought it mad, and generally don't believe easily in loony things--so I thought that I would put the pictures up.

I promise that this is not some shameless attempt to generate hits. I completely condemn that sort of thing, including that sexually explicit film of Hitler having and enjoying sexual congress with a lady launched by an anti-AIDS lobby the other day. Then again, I can't predict what the future will bring. Who knows? The end of the world? If I were Nostradamus I could make free money right now, but instead, I will simply defer to the appropriate people to reflect on this sort of thing....

UPDATE: A comment box in the article links to the Federation of American Scientists, who have details of the much-mooted Aurora craft on their site. The commenter suggests that either an Aurora or a Russian variant could have been responsible for the Chinese images, though it looks too slow to me for that. I think it looks a bit like an aeros craft--albeit one moving far too quickly to be one. Now there was an airship design, of blessed memory on this blog. 'Tis fun, all this, ain't it? Spotter Meenagh, holding forth on balloons....
