The New A-Team Trailer

It's a complete contrast to the Tennyson below, and may well lose me any readers whom I have picked up, but, well--yes!

Such a contrast! But an A-Team movie? It feels so wrong on so many levels.

It's a fantastically silly show which can't really be altered in terms of format for a movie--in fact the 'building a tank in a barn' thing might even look more stupid. But I like cheery trash with brio, and I like the really good things--its middlebrow pretension that winds me up. We dislike that which we fear in ourselves, I suppose....

Anyway, the trailer made me smile and feel around 10 again, which is presumably the effect that the marketers wanted.
But will anyone die in the movie?

I remember in one episode a helicopter crashing into the side of a cliff and after it crashed to the floor in a jumbled mess, the occupants got out a bit bleary headed. I'm not sure how well that fits with the Bourne generation.

If the American elite units are only really trained in prison escapes and turning combine harvester vehicles into tanks, it says a lot about afghanistan, don't it? And the A-team never manage to kill anyone.

I quite like the silliness of it all. At least no one has talked about remaking things like 'Red Dawn' or escape from New York yet--reenacting them politically, well, that's another story....

And, if they can build Airwolf, why can't they find it down that mesa volcano thing?
