Say No to 0870 : Practical tips

Lots of people are in trouble with banks and service providers at the minute, and one of the irritations is that '0870' prefixes on telephone numbers cost a lot if you telephone from a mobile device. I was just chatting with a lady in a call centre on one of my accounts--no panic, just checking--and she told me that this website provides reliable, cheaper land line alternatives to company helplines. I haven't tried it, but I thought that I would pass it on as a practical tip. I am not making any money from it and I don't know if it is worth anything! It cold save you some money in these troubled times, though.

Many Thanks, Calum, hope all is well. I think that was the website I embedded, but I am not sure.

It's interesting--very often, even though their calls are recorded, people in call centres will reveal or chat things to people if they are met with courtesy or humour, as will many others.

That's my tip for the day--be nice to other people, they may need it more than you know!

The standard warning about swearing, if you do not like that sort of thing applies, but it is a refreshing, open place sometimes. The Devil Has recently turned to considering the 'peak oil' idea.
