Income versus Life Expectancy

Here is a link to a graph detailing income against life expectancy across the world. A student of mine just sent it to me. It seems vaguely obscene that we should have been living like this at a time of plenty in 2006. However, as I have been suggesting for years now, food, oil, demographic pressure and war are about to bring those who are not super rich much nearer equity, and not in a pleasant way. Happy Monday!

Partially because there are simply too many people being born in countries unable to sustain them. Start with compulsory birth control and we may begin to deal with their problems. Forget redistribution, its not going to happen and makes no sense in any case until they learn to control their population. All aid should be dependent on willingness to embark upon population control.

 I realised some time ago that my students do not understand references to the events of November 1963 in Dallas anymore. So I have been using a break to compile a briefing book on the events, the use of commissions and enquiries to pursue particular narratives, and the embedding of the JFK assassination in American culture. A Jacksonian Republican Party Democrats in the United States frequently lay claim to the heritage of Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson.
